Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews were dispatched to a commercial fire around 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17.

The fire started at Retirement Asset Managers Inc., 15405 S.W. 116th Ave. in King City, shortly after the business closed for the day at 4 p.m.

Once the fire was put out, fire invstigators moved in.

Deputy Fire Marshal John Wolff and another investigator sifted for clues into the evening.

TVF&R communications officer Brian Barker said Dec. 23 that the investigation had not yet been completed to determine an official cause of the fire.

"This is usually because there are more tests to be done or more witnesses to interview," Barker said.

Business owner Garry Liday credited firefighters from nearby TVF&R Station 35 for saving his computers and client records, although the furniture, walls and floors were destroyed.

Liday has been in the building about seven years and was able to relocate immediately to an empty suite.
